Still at #1...Aubrey holds #1 for a fourth week with her smash hit "Stand Still"...This is only the fourth song this year to stay atop the chart for four or more weeks ("Your Disco Needs You"--7; "Out of Reach"--4; "River Divides"--5)...Next week will be a toss up as Cher's "The Music's No Good Without You" and Gabrielle's "Don't Need the Sun to Shine (To Make Me Smile)" move up to #2 and #3, respectively...

Stomped all over again...Steps has a bad chart week as its three currently charting songs all peaked last week and take a tumble on the chart..."Chain Reaction" spent two weeks at #2 and slips to #4 this week...Following the non-top 10 status of "Stomp" and "Heartbeat," last week's #12 song "Careless Whisper (Live)" tumbles to #18 while "Wouldn't Hurt So Bad" stalls at #13 and falls to #25...Steps has scored two #1 hits and a handful of other top 10 hits since its chart debut back in 1999 with "One for Sorrow"...Currently, Steps is tied with Madonna for the most charted Top 50 hits in the year 2001...they have both had eight titles on the survey between January 1, 2001 and this week...

Pretty in Pink...So the more I see her, the more I love her and the more I hear her, the more I can't wait until her next single...After hitting the top 20 with her debut hit "There You Go," Pink hit #4 with "Most Girls" and actually finished in the top 20 for 2000 with the song..."You Make Me Sick," a song that has since grown on me more and more, was a modest top 40 hit, as was her "Lady marmalade" with Christina Aguilera, Mya, Lil Kim, and Missy Elliott...Now Pink is back in full force with the fun "Get the Party Started"...MTV is airing her making of the vid as well as diary featuring Pink..."...Party..." enters the top 10 at #10 this week in an eleven place jump...I expect this one to challenge the current top 3 in the week's to come...this is the third consecutive week Pink has taken an award and this week it's COMBO HIT...

A Strong, Strong Song...Rick Astley is no stranger to chart success, and this week his comeback tune soars from #15 to #7..."sleeping (Remix)" is Astley's first top 10 hit since the #7 hit "She Wants to Dance With Me"...He scored #1 hits with "never Gonna Give You Up" and "Together Forever" and then hit the top 10 with "It Would Take a Strong, Strong Man" and "Whenever You Need Somebody"...he charted top 10 again with the first single from his second album "She Wants to Dance With Me" and then stalled in the top 20 with his last chart hit "Cry for Help"...

It's been a slow week for new music as I've been busy at work and most of my spare time has been doing projects and papers for school...However, with my time hopefully freeing up a bit in the next week, I hope to see a little more action with new music on the chart: This week, Reba McIntyre has her first Top 50 hit since "You Keep Me Hangin' On" spent a week at #1..."I'm a Survivor" is the first single from her latest greatest hits package and is also the theme music to her hilarious new sitcom REBA...definitely watch it if you haven't yet...it's a hoot!...the song bows at #47...Now, at #50 is a song that I really don't care for, but since my better half purchased the cd last week, I've been exposed to it more and more each day..."Fallin'" by Alicia Keys will likely miss the hit boat, but it does make for her chart debut...
