No Shortage of Love...While having tunes with similar titles charting simultaneously is no odd occurrence on the Top 50, having two songs with the exact same titles doesn't happen quite as often...as Soluna's "All Out of Love," a cover of the Air Supply hit from the early 80's, moves up to #21 from #29, former Steps members H and Claire debut their third single "All Out of Love," a completely different song, at #37 as this week's DEBUT HIT...Soluna had a #9 hit with "For All Time" back in August while H and Claire scored a #5 hit with "DJ" and a #14 hit with "Half a Heart"...H and Claire are also featured as part of Steps on "Baby Don't Dance," which moves up to #26 this week...

Stardom in Movies...while Madonna's career as an actress continues to tank, she has had better luck with songs from movies..."Crazy for You" and "The Gambler" were featured in "Vision Quest," while "Into the Groove" served as the theme tune to her only hit movie "Desperately Seeking Susan"..."Live to Tell" was on TRUE BLUE as well as being featured in "At Close Range"...Madonna's comical movie (yes I loved it!) "Who's That Girl?" produced two hit singles including the title track and "Causing a Commotion"...I can't remember but I may have even charted "The Look of Love," my fave from the soundtrack..."I'll Remember" was taken from the "With Honors" soundtrack and "Beautiful Stranger" soared to the top from "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me"...now Madonna has hit the top spot with the ultimate in soundtrack themes--the title track to the latest James Bond movie "Die Another Day"...the song moves into the pole position in only its third chart week...

#8, not 18...the second single from Moby's 18 moves into the top 10 this week..."Extreme Ways" jumps up eight positions this week, making Moby's second visit to the top 10 this year...he hit #5 with "We Are All Made of Stars"...also moving into the top 10 is Leann Rimes with the healthy move of "Life Goes On," up seven to #7...St. Etienne also scores a second top 10 hit with "Action," which edges to #10 from #12...

Smiling Angels...The Sugababes continue their assault on the top 10 as "Angels With Dirty Faces" makes a move to #25 and takes COMBO HIT this week...this comes in the same week that "Round Round" drops out of the Top 50 and "One Foot In" slips to #14 after a week at #9...Frank offered some interesting news about the Babes the other day...seems like an insider tells the Frankster (hate that nickname!!) that the Babes are negotiating a push in the US are a high priority...anticipating more news from Los Angeles via Atlanta...will keep everyone updated...

Short Road to the Top..."The Long and Winding Road" is the current single by UK Pop Idols Gareth Gates and Will Young, but it's not taking its time in charting as the tune takes SALES HIT and moves up to #34 in its second chart week...Justin Timberlake is also heating up the chart as "Like I Love You" takes AIRPLAY HIT and moves up to #40...an impressive performance on Top of the Pops and a great mix of the song is fueling it's ascent of the chart...

Not Just Sex...Sky Tyler scores a third Top 50 hit ("I'm Not Alone Anymore" hit #6 and "Tear it All Apart" hit #2 earlier this year) as "It's Only Sex" enters the chart at #43...anyone interested in hearing a clip of this new Tyler tune can check it out via her website at www.skytyler.com ...

The Dixie Nicks...originally performed by Fleetwood Mac and then alter by a solo Stevie Nicks, "Landslide" offers the Dixie Chicks their second Top 50 hit (the girls hit the top 40 with "Goodbye Earl" in 2001)...the song debuts at #41...

Bubbling Under...after weeks of scratching at the Top 50 door, two tunes finally get burned to cd and an opportunity to enter the chart...at #48, Jakatta scores a second Top 50 hit with "My Vision," featuring Seal on vocals...at #50, UK boy group sensation Westlife score a fourth Top 50 hit with "World of Our Own"...the boys hit the top 40 with "Swear it Again" and the top 20 with "My Love" in 2000...they scored a top 10 hit a few months back with "Bop Bop Baby (Remix)"...

Changing Directions...a couple of tunes on the chart make a rebound this week and gain points after losing points in past weeks...David Guetta and Chris Willis with "Love Don't Let Me Go" hold #19 a second week, but the former #3 hit does gain a single point...Kristine W's "Letting Go" is getting more airplay for being featured on my 2002 VIRGO cd (Mikey--it's coming, I still have to do labels!!)...the song moves up to #22 and gains 5 points...Kylie Minogue's "Tightrope" has been up and down the chart for 34 weeks now...this week is moves up to #31...Minogue also gains a point with "Love at First Sight" as I've downloaded yet another new mix of the tune, allowing it to hold onto #42 in its 25th week...

Change isn't always good...Alison Moyet's "Should I Feel That It's Over" spent a single week at #1 and dips to #2 this week...I did receive my copy of HOMETIME in the mail this week and it's a phenomenal album...Cyndi Lauper's "Shine" rebounded to #4 last week but slips to #6 this week...as previously mentioned, the Sugababes are down to #14 with "One Foot In"...Kelly Clarkson seems to have lost the fuel associated with her American Idol fame as both A-sides of the single "A Moment Like This"/"Before Your Love" fall this week after peaking at #11 and #8, respectively...Jessica Folker's "Goodbye" hit the wall at #5 and says goodbye to the top 10 and lands at #17...
