A Record-breaking Bond...Aubrey's "Stand Still" made a record-breaking leap from #34 to #7 in late 2001, breaking a couple of records: Biggest Point Gainer ever (+55), Biggest Chart Move ever, and Biggest Chart Move into the Top 10...now, those records are shattered as Madonna's "Die Another Day" makes a giant leap to #2 in its second week in the Top 50...the song debuted last week at #33 and makes an impressive 31 place jump (besting Aubrey's 27 place move) and gains +58 in points...there is no doubt that Madonna will score yet another chart topper next week as "Die..." continues to get exposure from its fantastic video (see MTV's Making the Video) and several great remixes of the tune...it seems likely Madonna will score yet another Billboard Hot 100 chart topper as the song debuts this week at #41 and will be released commercially October 22...

It's Not Over...at least for famed Yazoo vocalist Alison Moyet, who scores her second #1 hit on the Top 50...following several top hits with Vince Clarke and Yaz, Moyet scored a #1 (as well as other chart hits) with "Love Resurrection" ...now the first single from HOMETIME "Should I Feel That It's Over" scores a chart hit as it slides to #1 from #2...

Love Let Somebody Go...two dance hits take the plunge this week as I did some rearranging in my cd changer...two of my fave songs actually took the hit pretty hard (but could see a resurgence on the chart next week)..."Somebody" by Prezioso featuring Marvin hit #3 two weeks ago and takes the fall to #18 this week..."Love Don't Let Me Go" by David Guetta featuring Chris Willis hit #3 last week and tumbles to #19 this week...these two chart slips, as well as Dannii Minogue's "Put the Needle On It" (which drops to #21 after hitting #9 last week), make some room in the top 10...

No Objections Here...Shakira finally scores a top 10 hit with "Objection (Tango)," which blasts fom #14 to #7 this week...Shakira hit #11 with "Whenever Wherever" and #12 with "Underneath Your Clothes"...she is finally seeing some chart success on the Top 50 with the third single from her first English album...

Foot in the Door...Also making its way into the top 10 is the Sugababes with the fifth top 10 hit from their debut album ONE TOUCH..."One Foot In" follows "Run for Cover," "Just Let it Go," "Soul Sound," and "New Year" into the top 10...in other Babes news, the DEBUT HIT this week belongs to "Angels With Dirty Faces," the title track to their second album...it marks the third single from the album to make it into the Top 50, following the three-week #1 "Freak Like Me" and the #5 hit "Round Round" (which sits at #39 this week)...the Babes are well on their way to joining the ranks of Sweet Sensation, the Covergirls and the super-successful Expose with chart hits...difference here is that the Babes are probably less studio than any of these other artists...AWDF will be their next single, a double A-sided release with "Stronger," another track from the album...look for "Stronger" in the coming weeks...speaking of girls groups, Soluna's cover of Air Supply's "All Out of Love" takes AIRPLAY/SALES HIT this week and moves up to #29...

Can't Keep a Good Superwoman Down...Just as we've had some talk about whatever happened to the fabulous Karyn White, GTS remixes and releases "Superwoman 2002," featuring White's vocals...the 1989 #1 smash should do well again in its new incarnation as White's vocals are not lost behind the house beat...the song debuts at #41...

Teen Idols...While Justin Timberlakes' Michael Jackson-esque solo career kick-off seems to have stalled on the Hot 100, he manages to make his debut this week at #50 with "Like I Love You"...but even more exciting is the UK #1 smash "The Long and Winding Road," a duet of UK Pop Idols--cutie pie/shy-ish/clad in leather Gareth Gates and the always impressive hottie pants homo winner of the contest Will Young...the song debuts at #46...also making a debut is the groovy "Amazing" by Andy Hunter...it comes into the chart at #45...

A Chart Destiny...Kelly Rowland has held onto the #62 position on the Hot 100, but her first solo hit "Stole" makes an impressive chart move to #40 from #50 this week...she is the first of Destiny's Child's members to show up as a solo artist on the Top 50...Beyonce's first single "Work it Out" failed to make a dent in any chart really...even a pumped up Victor Calderon mix couldn't help it...the Rowland track is charting based on a Pop Edit Mix of the tune...

What to look for...Atomic Kitten, Dixie Chicks, Sugababes, Cher, Anastacia, Pet Shop Boys, H and Claire, Pink, Kristine W, Abigail, and much more...
