COMMENTARY ON THIS WEEK'S TOP 50:
"Love is in the water, love is in the air...Show me where to look and tell me will love be there..." Just one of the many verses that places Dolly Parton's cover of "Shine" at the top of the chart this week. I've found myself listening to this tune over and over again. It's a feel good song and after this tragic week in the United States, I've found it most appropriate. I'm going to leave my comments brief this week as I believe there are far more important things on which to be focusing my energy.
SALES HIT: Jennifer Lopez takes "Ain't it Funny" to #11 this week and steals this award...the song has the potential to become J-Lo's first chart topper on the Top 50...
AIRPLAY HIT: At #33, LA-based Hypnogaja's second Top 50 "One More Try" moves six places to #33...I expect the song will make a larger jump next week as #20-29 are fairly week with point-gaining songs...
COMBO HIT: Rockell rockets from #44 to #29 this week with the rechart of her #21 hit "What U Did 2 Me," fueled by an excellent remix by Jonathan Peters and club play here in Baltimore...
DEBUT HIT: "Eternity" by Robbie Williams marks his fifth showing in the Top 50 at a healthy debut of #38...Williams has hit #1 with "Supreme," the top 10 with "Angels" and "Let Love Be Your Energy," and the top 20 with "Kids," a duet with Kylie Minogue...
