Over the Top...Gabrielle scores her fourth #1 hit on Craig's Top 50 with "Over You"...the song just inches this week's #2 hit "Believe in Love" by Da Buzz for the pole position thanks to a nifty remix I downloaded last week...throwing into the mix next week with be the year's surprise chart hit "Shine" by Dolly Parton, which will challenge the top 2 for the chart reign next week...Gabrielle scored a #1 hit in 1993/94 with "Dreams" and in the last year or so has scored several big hits, including 2000's #1 song "Rise" and the currently charting four-week #1 "Out of Reach" (#27 this week)...

An Amazing Hit Streak...Maybe not so much amazing as expected as Madonna scores a fifth top 10 hit from MUSIC...the song "Amazing" soars to #8 this week and follows the #1's "Music," "Don't Tell Me," and "What it Feels Like for a Girl," as well as the #6 hit "Runaway Lover"...Madonna is also charting very well with two more tracks from MUSIC..."I Deserve It," last week's COMBO HIT, takes SALES HIT this week and rockets to #18..."Gone" bounces up nine positions to #22...

Ricky Martin scores a sixth top 20 hit with "Loaded (Remix)"...Martin scored a top 5 with his US breakthrough hit "Livin' La Vida Loca" back in 1999 and scored two #1 hits with "She's All I Ever Had" and "Private Emotion," the latter with Meja..."Shake Your Bon Bon" and "Nobody Wants to Be Lonely" (with Christina Aguilera) were both top 10 hits and Martin had a modest chart earlier this year with "She Bangs"...1999's Latin craze isn't over yet, either, as Jennifer Lopez moves up to #38 with "Ain't it Funny," the current single in Europe from J-LO...

Song Stuck in My Head...Kylie Minogue seems to be scoring again with "Can't Get You Out of My Head," he upcoming single in the UK...the song easily snags COMBO HIT and blasts up ten places to #31...Minogue currently has 2001's longest running single with "Your Disco Needs You," which spent a whopping seven weeks at #1 (something done only by Madonna's "Justify My Love" and Kristine W's "Lovin' You" in the past)...Minogue's LIGHT YEARS album is supposed to be repackaged with new music and released in the US later this year...

Perfect Pop...Hoku, who saw fame on the Top 50 last year with the fun pop hit "Another Dumb Blonde," is making a splash with her latest single, "Perfect Day" which moves up to #35 this week and takes AIRPLAY HIT...Hoku also charted with the top 40 hit "How Does it Feel"...

Looking for a hit...Four records make their chart debut this week with Ultra Nate's seventh Top 50 hit, "Ain't Looking for Nothing" bowing at #43...the song follows "Free," "Found a Cure," "Pressure," "New Kind of Medicine," "If You Could Read My Mind" (with Amber and Jocelyn Enriquez as Stars on 54), and "Get it Up (The Feeling)...at #47, New Order makes a return to the Top 50 for the first time since "Blue Monday '97" burned up the charts...their latest is quite similar to their top hit "Regret" from the album REPUBLIC..."Crystal" follows a long line of Top 50 hits that date back to the 80's...at #48, Erasure charts a third Top 50 hit from LOVEBOAT..."Here in My Heart" follows "Freedom" and "Crying in the Rain," the first two charters from their latest album...rumor is that Andy Bell is working on a solo project right now...Finally, debuting at #50 is the third Top 50 for Vanessa Amorosi, which was actually her second single..."Shine" is getting more exposure now since I got the album THE POWER and follows "Absolutely Everybody" and "Have a Look" (currently at #26), two top 20 hits for the Australian singer...I've also heard that her new album is due later this year...

DISCLAIMER: "Bootylicious" makes a move this week and lands at #37...I am in no way, shape or form or will I ever be a proclaimed Beyonce's...umm...er..Destiny's Child fan...the song is just fun and I downloaded a pretty decent remix of it as well..I don't expect much of this, but let it be so noted that the charting of this song is an exception and not the rule for DC's music...the same could be possible for Mariah Carey's "Never Too Far"...I downloaded the song and the version I downloaded isn't the greatest copy...if I can get a good copy of the tune, it could very well chart--Carey's ballads tend to do well for me...as long as they don't feature some rap middle or something...

Anyway, I'm off to Tampa this evening and will likely be without email for most of my trip, if not all of my trip...I will check back with everyone on Tuesday...
