It's not so hard to understand...Why Avril Lavigne's "Complicated" is this week's DEBUT HIT at #38...the song, from her debut album LET GO, is her Top 50 debut and has been making its way around the airwaves in the US for the last couple of weeks and finally makes its debut on my chart--it would have debuted lower this week had I not purchased the album at Target (for only $9.99!!)...bowing just behind Lavigne is Moony with "Dove (I'll Be Loving You") at #40...it is her second Top 50 hit as she was featured on db Boulevard's recent #1 smash "Point of View"...at #42 is a beautiful ballad with a kick-ass remix: "For All Time" is Soluna's first appearance on the Top 50....Billie Ray Martin has another Top 50 hit with "Systems of Silence," which makes its appearance at #44...the song is featured on the latest compilation by famed DJ Junior Vasquez...if anyone has any information about a second Martin album, please let me know...Alcazar makes a third appearance on the Top 50 with a cover of the 80's classic "Don't You Want Me" by Human League...the song doesn't stray far from its original and has several remixes to give it a modern spin...the song makes its entry at #49...

Making it Good...A1 continues its assault on the Top 50 this week as last week's DEBUT HIT takes this week's COMBO HIT with a massive 34-point gain and move from #35 to #19..."Make it Good (Remix)," however, is not alone on the chart...A1 is also up ten more positions this week with "Caught in the Middle (Remix)" at #26...the US version of their first two albums--self-titled A1--is due for release on Tuesday, June 25...I am certain I will picking this one up at the store on my lunch hour...

Bopping Up the Chart...Westlife steals a double award this week as AIRPLAY/SALES HIT with "Bop Bop Baby," which catapults to #31 from #45...it is the group's third Top 50 hit and clearly looking to become their most successful chart appearance ("My Love" hit #17 in 2001)...Other big movers include songs by Celine Dion (#39-29), Reel (#32-23), and Pink (#31-20) with "18 Wheeler"--the tune is also sharing chart space with two recent top 5 hits "Don't Let Me Get Me" (#48) and "Just Like a Pill," which is up again to #27 this week...

Love at the Top Spot...Kylie Minogue scores a second week atop the chart with "Love at First Sight" this week...the fourth straight song to make it to #1 from FEVER isn't seeing a direct threat for the throne either as it looks like its nearest strong competitor could be Sophie Ellis Bextor's second top 10 hit "Get Over You," which is up to #8 this week...the next couple of weeks should prove an interesting battle for the tight top 10...

Look for tunes from Duran Duran, Boyz with Toyz, Rik Waller, Kylie Minogue, Jennifer Lopez, Cher, Pet Shop Boys, Enrique Iglesias, Anastacia, Kelly Llorenna, Sandra, Kelli Ali, and more to make their way toward the Top 50...
