Can't Get you out of my head: Kylie minogue |

COMMENTARY ON THIS WEEK'S TOP 50:
It's the SECOND chart of 2002 and there's lots of #2's happening this week: First and foremost, Kylie Minogue returns to the top spot this week for the SECOND time with "Can't Get You Out of My Head," which logs its fourth week atop the chart. Geri Halliwell scores her SECOND top 3 hit with "Calling," which moves up to #3 this week. Erasure scores its SECOND top 10 hit from LOVEBOAT as "Moon and the Sky" jumps up to the #10 position ("Freedom" hit #9 in 2000). Infinito and Kym Mazelle take an award for the SECOND consecutive week with "Dance Little Dreamer," this week's SALES HIT award at #18. Atomic Kitten's SECOND Top 50 hit "You Are" moves up to #21 this week. Five for Fighting takes a SECOND consecutive weekly award with AIRPLAY HIT and "Superman (It's Not Easy Being Me)," which moves up to #26. This week's COMBO HIT is the SECOND single from Kylie Minogue's FEVER called "In Your Eyes." The song moves ten positions to #30 in its SECOND chart week. Gabrielle's SECOND new single from DREAMS CAN COME TRUE--GREATEST HITS called "If I Walked Away" moves up eleven positions in its SECOND chart week. Cher bows at #36 with the SECOND single from LIVING PROOF called "(This is) A Song for the Lonely." The song takes DEBUT HIT this week. Charting for the SECOND time are two of this week's debuting songs. Leann Rimes' "Can't Fight the Moonlight," which originally began its chart life in late 2000 and went on to peak at #2 in 2001, spend an incredible 31 weeks in the Top 50, and end the year for 2001 at #12, reenters the chart at #38. Next, N Sync's fabulous "Gone," which never really had a fair shot on its original chart run (due mainly to bad cd placement) gets another chance at #50. At #44, Britney Spears' SECOND Top 50 from BRITNEY, "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman," is a pretty decent song. While I've never been much of a fan of Spears' ballads, I actually like this one in its original form. I imagine they'll be a remix of it soon. At #46, Melanie Thornton posthumously charts with her SECOND Top 50 called "Love How You Love Me."
So, Kylie Minogue is able to take the #1 postion back and hold Kim Wilde's fantastic "Loved" back in the #2 spot. The next couple of week should easily see the two songs battling it out for #1 while we'll see Infinito and Kym Mazelle, Five for Fighting, Kylie, and Cher claw through the chart toward the top 10.
